Travis Calvert is a writer/director hailing from the high desert of Reno, NV. His passion is telling tales of life, love, music, heartbreak and inspiration drawn from half a life of living these things.
Having grown up in the corn fields of Iowa and Minnesota instilled a proper work ethic. Having graduated with a degree in Computer Science instilled an appreciation for order and logic. Having lived abroad instilled a sense of awe, wonderment, and connection with a greater swath of humanity. Having worked a decade in the gambling industry as a video producer instilled an appreciation for professionalism and dedication. Having won the Jameson First Shot competition and having made a film with Adrien Brody instilled in him the great joy that is endless possibility.
All these things only begin to scratch the surface.
The real truth of the matter is that he someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. There is power in vulnerability. To reveal one’s self honestly is an act of courage. This is who he is.
He seeks to make films that resonate with an audience the power of human connection. The feeling encapsulated in Bowie’s Rock n Roll Suicide when he yells out “You’re not alone. Just give me your hand” is everything he wishes to share with the world.
